jack johnson
I won't lie.
I have never really been much of a fan of Jack Johnson.

The only close up I could get. :) I couldn't get clear photos when I zoomed in. |
However, Dustyn is a huge fan.
He is always listening or singing Jack Johnson songs to Gage.
When I saw that Jack Johnson was coming to concert, there was no way I could pass up getting tickets for Dustyn. I mean lets face it. He has been to numerous Tim McGraw concerts with me.
Plus, it wouldn't hurt me to give Jack Johnson a chance. Before the concert I doubt I had ever listened to an entire song.
When I went to buy tickets for Dustyn's Father's Day, I thought I bought General Admission lawn tickets. We showed up around 5:00 pm so we could get good seats (read: A BETTER PARKING SPOT THAN TIM MCGRAW - ARG!). The gates opened at 5:30 pm. When we got in the gate, we were directed to some girls to get wrist bands. Okay. Whatever.
We head on in. We definitely were not on the lawn.
We had general admission PIT tickets.
This was our view:

We even had something to lean on, thank goodness! |

I loved being close enough to watch the bouncers. Hilar. Oh... this is G-Love. He was entertaining. |
Awesome. :)
We did have a few hours to wait.

At least the sun was to our back. It was a nice warm day! |
Luckily we could sit while waiting. :)
I can now say, I am a fan.

He had awesome scenes on his screen. |
Dustyn is happy. :)
Less whining from his wife. That can only be good.
The concert was a lot of fun and awesome.
Dustyn said it was his all time favorite concert.
We were about 5 ft from the speakers. It was loud (we had earplugs), but it wasn't as bad as being back in the crowd. It was kind of strange. The cheering and screaming wasn't even bothering our listening experience. It was awesome. It was weird to have your body vibrate to the music. Even our levi's were vibrating.
The downside? Jack Johnson did not move around stage. Boo! Our front row seats (err... standing room only) weren't as close as they could have been.
However, the piano player did come visit us. :) Of course my camera starting struggling at that moment. I did manage to snap a picture.

Nope, he's not wearing shoes. He was goofy. |
We had a great time. I am glad I can finally stand to listen to another of Dustyn's favorite artists. I have found I usually do not like his music, but eventually it becomes part of my list of favorites. It just takes me awhile to come around. ;)

And how can I not add a picture of him to this post? |
There have been a lot of family and friend who have supported us through our years of waiting and hoping and finding. It wasn't easy, but man do we have a cute boy.
Here is where I ask for your help, again.
I have some seriously awesome friends that are hoping to adopt! I can not wait for them to become parents and experience the miracle of adoption. I need you to help me get the word out!

You can click on over to their adoption blog and grab their button. Add it to your blog, facebook. You know the drill.

i love weddings
Aubrey's wedding was beautiful and perfect.
Not only did I get to witness the beautiful union of Kevin and Aubrey, I finally got to meet Evonne. I seriously love her. I can't wait to have many more play dates with her and her cute, cute kids.
Sadly, I never did snap a picture. Luckily Aubs has one with all of us. I must get it.

Squee!
My bff is getting married today.
I can not wait.

Aubrey and I met online about 2 or 3 years or so ago. I don't even know anymore. It feels like she has always been my bff. She is the one person I can always talk to. The one that is always there for me. She has gone through so much with me. I can not thank her enough. She was there every time my heart broke over a failed adoption and each time my nerves had me over the edge. She has got me through some tough times. She always knows the perfect time to text me or write me a message. It's always just when I need it the most.
I am so excited for her to marry Kevin.

it's the stats
Four Months Old
We went to the doctor today for shots and blood work.
Gage is now:
15lb 12oz (60th Percentile)
26 inches long (90th Percentile)
(even though when I measure him, he's a little longer. Ha ha)
The lady who was trying to take his blood (to check his anemia) struggled. They got the needle in and couldn't find the vein. She was fishing around and around. She finally pulled it out and tried again. And fished some more. Poor Gage. Of course, it wasn't her fault. I can only imagine babies are hard. I just felt bad for him. He was so good though. He cried a little bit, but he's the bravest boy I know. Oh how I miss the days of the heel prick. I hope his blood counts are a lot better so we don't have to go through that again. (or much worse)
