We finally made Gage's room more age appropriate. It's nice to have somewhere for him to play without too many things he can get in to. He's a very curious little boy. He loves to bang on the wood floors. Soon, he'll have real carpet in his room. Hooray!

friday night at Hoover's

My parents took us to dinner last night.

Gage enjoyed the crackers. (along with with his own cup of water and straw. He loves drinking out of a straw)

Chet enjoyed the Hoover burger.

As did dad.

The rest of us had good food too, just not as exciting as the Hoover Big Springs Burger. (okay, so I don't really know if that is what it was called.) And well.... these are the only pictures I took with my cell phone. More from the camera coming soon though!

Crap. Now I am craving a hamburger.

kam-a-lam 101

How long have you been blogging? I started my blog in Feb 2006, but I didn't actually start really blogging until Feb 2007. I was going back and reading some of my posts during the first year. I remembered why I loved blogging. It was fun to post about random things and happenings through out my day. It seems like blogging got so serious. Nothing seems blog-worthy anymore, except Gage of course. I don't post things because it's not well written or the pictures are good enough. I want to get back to loving blogging and posting random part of my day. That is my new goal. I need to get back into that mind set.

When is all your birthdays? Dustyn - 6/16 Kamie 7/7 Gage 3/25

What is your favorite holiday? I think the 4th of July will always be my most favorite holiday. It's what I look forward to every year. I love spending time with family, good food, parades, and fireworks. I love it all. I can't wait until the 4th this year! I hope Gage loves it as much as I do. After that, I love Thanksgiving. You know, for the food, family and fun!

What do you do in your free time? Once Gage goes to bed and most of my motherly duties are done, I usually chat with Evonne, watch TV (favorites: Big Brother, Your Cut Off, Project Runway, The Big Bang Theory, The Office, Parenthood, Cupcake Wars, Glee, Worst Cooks in America, The Event, Community, Chopped, Raising Hope. Yes, we are TV watchers. Love TV.) Stumble, Tweet, play on Facebook. Yep, that is about it.

Now if it's summer and Gage is awake, we love to be outside. Camping.

Any family traditions you and Dustyn have created? I know that Dustyn and I have a lot of little traditions, but we just do them without thinking. For the most part, our main traditions are just carried over from our families. It will be fun as Gage grows to create our own traditions.

A nickname that you hate? I can't think of one that I hate. I don't have many nicknames. Kam is probably as good as it gets. Spam and Spamula are old nick names that my Uncle had for me when I was a kid. Okay, and maybe even now. Other than that, I have Kam-a-lam and Kamula as my internet nicknames. (OH! And Lady-Queen-Kam! Ha. I miss Plurk.) I am sure there have been many more, I just can't seem to think of any.

Do you still have Bruce? Yes! We still have Bruce. He is doing well. He is now 49 years old. His joints get sore easy so he gets tired easily when Dustyn walks him. He loves sleeping in the Garage in the winter and sharing his food with the birds.

Who do you look up to? I look up to Gage's birth mother. Her strength, courage and love for Gage. She is such a great mother to her oldest soon and I want to be more like her.

DO YOU LOVE CHEESESTICKS?!(do you also call them "fatsticks"?) Um... yes, please! I can't believe we have never eaten cheesesticks together. It's a travesty.

What is your favorite color? Black. I know, right? Whose favorite color is black? I also love red and orange. Oh... and some green tones. But not all.

What would be your dream vacation? Right now, I just wanna go on a cruise to... anywhere. But really, dream vacation would be to go to New Zealand and Australia so I could meet my friend, Heather. She the sweetest person I have ever met. I'd love to meet her someday.

I love to travel. Any vacation is a dream vacation! :)

How did you and Dustyn meet, I want the whole love story! I know I have written up the story... somewhere. I will find it! For now, here is the quick version. The part that it leave out? We first met in the singles ward. I had a giant crush on him and kept trying to talk to him. He would always answer with a quick answer and go about his business. I finally got brave enough to ask him out! I remember the day I did. My knees were shaking! I was so nervous. Of course he said yes, even though he didn't even know my name. Our date was fun, but Dustyn didn't say a word to me. I am not even kidding. This was on Saturday. It was on Monday at FHE that we started talking and talking and talking. That is where he fell in love with awesome little me.

I know that story is somewhere on here. I guess I better type it up again!

What's your favorite movie? Blue Crush, Moulin Rouge, 10 Things I Hate About You, Meet the Robinsons, Mama Mia, Sweet Home Alabama, No Reservations, P.S. I Love You. Okay, so those are the ones I can think of right now. I can't narrow it down to one. :)

Do you like to read? Yes! I never know what to read though. I usually read LDS Novels because I am scared of what I might find in (and have found) in random books. Know a good clean book? Feel free to suggest it to me! I do get in moods where I just wanna read. Then there are some books that take me months to finish.

What personality trait about your husband drives you crazy?? The fact that I do not exist when the TV is on. It could be the dumbest show alive (or a commercial) and I could have a really good story... I can never get him to look away long enough to even listen for a minute. It's kind of crazy. It just pulls him in. The most frustrating part about it? We have a DVR. You can pause, rewind, record, you know... all of that stuff and he still can't take 30 seconds to look my direction. He has gotten so that he will turn off the TV if I need to talk to him. It has gotten better. That is most likely the reason I spend so much time on my computer in the evenings... because we (he) watch a lot of TV. And yes, he is very aware of how I feel. ;) He even knows I am writing this.

Where did you go to college? I went to Snow College, Snow South, Utah Valley State College and Southern Utah University. Of course you already know, but I majored in Criminal Justice with a Sociology minor. I may use my degree someday. We'll see. :)

Do you remember your first date with your hubby?? Yes! That is the one where he didn't talk to me. We went up to Bear Valley and had food and rode 4-wheelers. I was helping my brother cook. Dustyn spent most of the time on the 4-wheeler. We had a giant marshmallow fight and then went home. It was a lot of fun, even if the boy I liked didn't seem to like me. ;)

Hobbies: Obviously I love taking pictures of Gage. :) I really do love photography though. I need to learn how to use a camera. Dustyn has tried to teach me, but most times I get frustrated and put it on Auto. (okay, he may just have the most complicated camera ever. Ha ha) The nice thing? I can do that with Dustyn's nice camera. I do need to learn though!

I love camping! It's my favorite part about summer! I love to be in the mountains in the nice cool, crisp air while the valley below is blazing hot. It's a nice relief!

I like making things and crafting, but I never do it. Every time I make something I remember how much I love it. I am looking for fun cheap ideas! I want to start crafting more often!

Cooking! I love cooking. I make new things all the time and try new recipes probably weekly. I love to experiment and change things up. I love when I have an excuse to try something extra fancy. Good thing I have Dustyn to do my dishes. :)

I use to love blogging, but kind of lost my love for it. I am going to get that back soon!

I love that Gage is starting to play independently with his toys (when he has forgotten that he wants you to help him walk around everywhere). He's so fun to watch.

I don't have any official stats, but this is my best guess.
Weight: 22-23 lbs

Random facts about Gage:

• He can crawl! 
• He blows kisses. So cute!
• He can clap when he wants to, but it doesn't happen often.
• He does like to throw his arms in the air and yell "Yay!" 
• He has a favorite blanket that he can not get enough of.
• He is getting better at pulling himself up and walking along the furniture.
• He loves most food, just not green beans, and the turkey/chicken and veggie medleys. 
• It seems like his most favorite jared food is Mac and Cheese. Ew. So gross.
• He loves playing with the food in his mouth. Pushing it around, pushing it through his two little teeth.
• He will drink from a sippy cup, but he can't figure out how to hold it high enough to get anything out of it. 
• He LOVES baths.
• He is a mover and a busy body.
• He has six teeth trying to come in on the top. Four have cut through. His teeth come in soooo slow.
• He loves chewing on his tongue and turning it sideways in his mouth.
• His favorite toys: remote, cell phones, iPods, camcorder, balls, cars, and rings.
• He hates getting his diaper changed or clothes changed. That requires stopping.
• He loves watching people sing. That is his favorite part about church. He giggles.
• He wears 12-18 month old clothes.
• He is the LIGHTEST sleeper ever and we have the squeakiest floors ever. The two do not mix. We never check on him for fear of waking him. Thank goodness for baby monitors.
• He still takes two naps a day, but most of the time, they don't last more than 10-20 minutes. These should be the most productive moments of the day. Instead, I sit silently hoping I don't wake him. :) 
• He goes to sleep at 7:00 p.m. and likes to wake at 5:30 a.m. Sometimes he'll sleep until 6:00-6:30 a.m. but not on the weekends, of course. :)
• He does not like his car seat. At. All. 
• He is a momma's boy. 
• He will not snuggle or let us cradle him or rock him. He never has though. He want to be moving! 
• He will only fall asleep in his crib. And only his crib. 
• I think he gets kissed more than any baby ever has.
• Oh... lets not forget how he loves to eat lotion. As I put it on, he quickly rubs his hands on his belly, gets a little lotion and then goes to licking and sucking on his fingers. Mmm. He gets SO excited the minute I rub my hangs together to warm it up.

That is our Gage in a nutshell. 

I don't think I could love him any more, and then I do.

This is Gage's favorite pose. Many times he will rest his head on the ground. Or even his nose. Oh, his poor nose. It may never be the same again. :)

He knows exactly where to find his books.


But, he knows where mom's books are too.
