Thoughts

So, my camera . . . just doesn't take the pictures that it use to.  Is that even fair?  I mean it is only about 1.5 years old or so.  I really can't remember, but between one and two years old.  Why do cameras have to get crappy.  It still does just fine for me when I just wanna a point and shoot.  And when I want a nice picture, we always have the rebel.  So really, it's no big deal, just annoying.  It still does pretty well in the right light.  But isn't that with most point and shoots?  Light is everything.

I made about 15+ dozen of cookies yesterday.  I decided that cookies were easier and faster than candy.  I still have quite a few to bake today, so really I haven't made them all.  Hopefully I will get them done today.

I really need to get on my Christmas Cards!  This is the latest I think I have ever waited.  I am slacking!  I should at least be gathering addresses! In time.

I need to post a few more of Cyd's pictures so you can see what a great job Dustyn does.  He really is a great photographer.  We laugh though because you can tell he is an artist at heart and paints.  He tries to make the photos look more like a painting.  He tries to do a little of everything when he is editing.  Some realistic ones and some that he plays around with.  It's fun to watch what he comes up with.

We watched the funniest, weirdest movie the other day.  if you are in a really, really silly mood and anything would amuse you, you should rent "Stalking Santa".   It is pretty funny, but you have to be in the right mood.  It is a mockumentary.  Fun-nay.

I think we have rented 10 Christmas movies in the past two weeks.  (There are 6 at our house at the moment).  We watched Fred Claus and thought it was pretty funny and entertaining.  Not really what I was expecting.  And I can not stand Paul Giamatti as Santa Claus.  Maybe I am weird, but he just doesn't fit the description for me.  :)

I am totally over private.  I really hate it.  I mean I try not to put too much info anyways, so it shouldn't be a big deal.  And what I was worried about has passed.  I am so ready to go back to normal.  Good thing you didn't move your bookmarks, huh?  Ha ha!  We'll see.

Coming up next:  Thanksgiving pictures!!  And who knows what else.

r-r-r-random!

* I have been able to come up with so much to blog about lately, until I sit down.  Then it's gone.  Long gone.

* My sister's blog is having issues.  Somehow the email that she was using to post is no longer associated with her blog.  Weird.  She has Z.E.R.O. access to her blog.  (since it was private)  And blogger is not so great in the area of support.  We can not find a place to contact them. At. All.  Lame.  When we type in the blog name to see what email it is associated with...  nothing.  She never gets the email.  So, so frustrating.  If anyone has any idea, we are totally open to new ideas!  She would LOVE to have her blog back again.

* Dustyn had been sick.  No fun!  I hope he gets feeling better.  And I hope he stays away from me!  :)

* We have bought so much candy lately!  WHY?  We never buy candy, but don't worry, we have a butt load now.  Funny enough - I probably still won't eat much of it.

* Last night I made pistachio brittle.  It is pretty good, but the nuts taste burnt.  I tried a new recipe.  I should have stuck to my old one.  Oh well.  I also made English Toffee.  It tastes pretty good.  I have only had a small bite, but it was good.

* It has been THREE (well... maybe two) years since I have made Candy at Christmas.  Sad, huh?  We did however make a TON of suckers last year (Heather - Lollipops . (:  )  I am hoping to get a lot more candy made and some ginger snaps for neighbor/friend gifts.  I hope it actually happens.  *think productive, think productive*

* My most favorite Christmas album during the Holidays is this one!  I listen to it every year ALL month! I love, love, love it.  I also love Hilary Weeks Christmas Album .  I have not been too impressed with Faith Hill's Christmas album .  But any Christmas music is good Christmas music!  Wait!!  I can't forget Relient K.  I love them too!  I love Christmas Music!

* I LOVE that they have pomegranate 7-up this time of year.  I love it, so, so good.

* I also love the Candy Cane kisses.  Good thing they are seasonal!  (apparently I am craving lots and lots of candy!)

* My super cute niece, Hads, is turning FOUR tomorrow!  Can you even believe it?  I can't. I can not believe it has been four years.  JaKell was pregnant at the same time I was pregnant.  Time flies.

* Every year we get a new ornament.  This year we bought our ornament at Disneyland!  (Since that was the most exciting thing we did all year!)  If my camera was charged I would recap all the ornaments, just for you!  I just might.  Soon!

* Every time we put up our tree it gets smaller and smaller, I swear.  We just have one of those small 6 foot trees from Wallymart.  You know, the ones that have a 2 foot stem on the bottom, so really, the tree part is 4 feet...  maybe.  I laugh every year.  I do love our tree though.

* Thanksgiving was great!  We spend it with my dad's side of the family.  We ate a lot of good food, played a lot of fun games, and visited with a lot of really cool people!

* One of our favorite games to play is Boxers and Briefs.  It is seriously one of the best games ever.  We love it.  Last year we got it at Wallymart for like ten bucks.  You can see how much it is now.  C-R-A-Z-Y!  I can not believe that.  I almost want to sell mine, but it is far too fun.  Oh yes, Arianne, believe me...  we are soooo playing it on New Years!  Wooohooo!  Seriously though.  So fun!  If you can get your hands on one for under $140.00, do it.

* I am suppose to be folding laundry.  But I guess that can wait, right?  :)

* What is your all time favorite Christmas movie?  Ours for sure is Elf!  We could watch it over and over again!  Seriously, the best.

* Have you heard enough about Christmas?  Ha ha!  I am sooo excited!  Wooohooo!

Our Valentines weekend in Salt Lake City!

Yes, I am finally getting around to blogging about our weekend in Salt Lake City. It was definitely fun but went way too fast.

We drove up to Salt Lake on Friday after school. We went shopping and messed around. I was able to pick up my ring that has been at the jewelers for at least three weeks - so I was happy about that. We also ran a few other errand and went to Costco and Ikea and just had a good afternoon. We drove up to Salt Lake and checked in at our hotel. We stayed at Hampton Inn (of course, bad sadly it wasn't $29.00 a night :P ). That night we got hungry for something good - but didn't want to go out, so we ordered in Pizza from The Pie. It was super good! We ordered the Greek Pizza and it was Yummy! I wasn't sure what to expect - but I love greek food so I figured it would be good and it was!
On Saturday morning we watched President Hinckley's funeral.  I am glad I had the opportunity to see it and to listen to the stories that were shared.  He was truly an amazing man.  We spent the afternoon driving around window shopping. I am STILL looking for a good pair of shoes and a jacket. (I know winter is getting close to being over - so I finally decided that I should get me a jacket. Dustyn would be happy so he could wear his own!!) But no luck. I just don't know where to shop anymore. We found some really cute coats in the mall and I was excited to get one - they were all too small! Grrr..... so I am still looking. At least we got to eat at Cafe Rio so the trip was worth it!! My back is still not ready to shop on hard floors so it was a quick trip.
Saturday night we went to the Blue Man Group. It was a lot of fun and crazy! It was so random, but a lot of fun and great music. Afterwards we went to the Thaifoon and had dinner. It was so good. I love that place!!
On Sunday we took a drive up the the Salt Lake Cemetery and were able to see President Hinckley's grave.  We drove around and found most of the other past LDS Presidents.  It was really neat.  I have never driven through the cemetery and looked at the headstones.  I would really like to go back and spend a little more time there (preferably when it's a little warmer!!).  We were also able to meet up with a friend and hang out for awhile.

One the way home we went and visited Dustyn's mom. It was good to see her. Then the drive home!!! It took us almost three hours to get from Genola to Richfield. It was crazy and slow. The roads were bad and there were cars off the road all over the place. But we finally made it home. While we were driving, Dustyn was watching The Ultimate Gift! From what I could hear - it was a really good movie. If you haven't seen it, you should rent it!

Well that is about all - that was our weekend to Salt Lake City. Of course I forgot to grab the charger for my camera and it was pretty much dead so we didn't really get photos. Just a few.

Hairspray!

DUstyn and I went to Hairspray and it was Awesome! I loved it! It will have to become part of our permanant collection for sure. It was one of the best movies that I have seen for a long time. We have seen lots of movies while we have been out here! Harry Potter 5, License to Wed, Pirates of the Carribean III. Maybe that is all... But Hairspray was by far my favorite!

Dustyn figured out half way through the movie that the mother was John Travolta. It was so funny! He did an awesome job!

If you get the chance to see it, you should! Dustyn and I might go again while we are here, if not.... I am sure it will hit Richfield in a month or two! We can see it again there. Mom, you can go with us. :)

Wild Hogs

I promise this is the last post today! So we decided to go to the movie tonight and we went to Wild Hogs (of course the only choice in this town). Well I don't think that I have seen Dustyn laugh so hard and so much in a movie, ever! It was really funny and I enjoyed it quite a bit! There were a few bare bum and scantly dressed women scenes that I could have done without, but it was really funny. A lot funnier than I expected, so if you enjoy funny biker movies, you should go see it!
