Silly Dustyn

Yesterday evening we went to my parents house and were hanging out waiting for someone to show up and play games with us... and no one showed up. So why were waiting I started taking some pics of Dustyn. He does not like these pictures and does not want me to place them on our blog..... but he loves me and I win. Plus I really think they are funny!

nice tan, huh? Too bad it's better than mine! :)

87˚(or hotter) and SUNBURNS!

It's been a pretty good weekend. Yesterday after I got of work, Dustyn and I went to Ephriam (about 60 minutes away) to get some FAT JACK'S PIZZA!! YUM YUM!! Really we just go to get the Cheesy Fat Sticks, but it's all good. Then we just drove around and toured through Mt. Pleasant. Then we went to Wheelers and got Fresh Strawberry Shakes. They weren't that great and I was pretty dissappointed. Then we drove home and went to bed! :)

Today we had to meet at the church at 6:45AM. From there we took the youth in our ward up to the Manti Temple to do Baptisms for the Dead. It was great experience and a fun time. Afterwords we took off to see Dustyn's brother and his family. They live out in a beautiful valley and have built a super nice home out there among their goat farm. It was fun to see them and talk. They were in the middle of planting their garden... so we watched. Dustyn and I both got burned pretty bad. it was a WARM day. Almost too warm. After we visited for a few hours and saw all the new happenings on the farm, we drove to Fairview and drove around. I wanted to go to this park that we use to go to when I was a kid, but I couldn't remember how to get there. So we drove back to Mt. Pleasant and stopped at Rodger's Daily Feeze and got a sandwich and a shake. It was SO good. I got a fresh strawberry and Oreo shake. My favorite. And Dustyn got a banana Boisenberry Shake. They were so good. Then we drove home and here we are.

Here is a picture of 2 of our nieces! They are so cute! Dustyn's brother has 8 children. These are the two youngest.

Bronze Sculpture

So after the commissioners show someone bought Dustyn's bronze sculpture. It was a great, strong piece and I am sad we no longer have it. But I guess I can't keep every piece that I love. I guess that I called trying to make it as an artist. You wife can't have all your great works of art, she has to share. :( But i was really excited for him!

YAH DUSTYN!!!

My cute soccer girly!

Prime Rib

So first of all... I totally hate that Drivers License Picture... but I am trying to keep it there since it is the only picture that i know of with my short hair.

Anyways, tonight we went over to SSHS and attended the Parent/Student FFA banquet. It was pretty fun. We mostly went for the prime rib... but anyways... thanks SSHS for making dinner.

Then Dustyn had to stay for an hour or so for a study group. Fun stuff!

That was our night.

I guess you could say it was a lovely day.

And here I am again on the computer as Dustyn sleeps. Silly kid.

Sevier County Commissioners Art Show

So Dustyn entered a few pieces into the Commissioners Art Show. The special category was "Humor". Dustyn did a piece of his grandpa Freeman that was a photograph. They wouldn't accept it because they didn't have a "photography" division. What kind of an art show doesn't accept photography? He was really dissappointed.

But he did however enter 3 more pieces. His painting of the St. George Temple got a Special Award as well as his piece entitled "Father". (collage of his family) His bronze sculpture got Second place. So he did quite well anyways. I was proud of him.

HAIR - I need suggestions

So I have been struggling with my hair lately. I am just not sure what to do with it. I wanted it long again... but now that it is long it seems so thin and frizzy and scraggly.

So here is a picture of when i had it short. (of course I can only find my Drivers License Picture... and I hate this picture. This was when It was grown out too!!) I hope it actually looked better than that. I really liked it short.

And here is a picture of my hair from yesterday... straight (and frizzy)

And a picture of it today, curly... (and not even)

Sadly the chubby face is here to stay... so I'll just have to work with it! :)

So when did everyone like my hair better? Ya'll can remember the many changes of my hair... which was your favorite?
I need to do something! Maybe just a trim would make it better. Or an inch. But I kinda like it long... but it seems like I always have to wear it up becuase it has gotten so thin over the past few years...(and I HATE it on my neck) and to think when i was young.. everyone couldn't believe how thick it was... sadly those days are gone.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Virgina Tech and the terrible tragedy that took place.

We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on. We are embracing our mourning. We are Virginia Tech ...

New Recliner

So today has been a pretty good day. Nothing too exciting... but good. We went to Irmitas in Salina. It was great food. If you like authentic Mexican... you should try it for sure. Then afterwords we went to Ogden's Carpet Outlet and finally caved and bought a leather recliner. We have been looking at them forever and we fianlly found one I liked... and we have tried hundreds... and it was a good price, so that made it even better. Hopefully we like it. We haven't got it yet because we are just going to make a few payments... and they are ordering a new one in so we don't have to take the display model.

YAH!! I am excited. We need to have some sort of rocking chair... I mean how can you rock a baby without a rocking chair! That was my excuse anyways.

tickets. . .

so yes, I am still bored and Dustyn is still sleeping and I am still not tired. What an exciting night.

So the other day we finally got our Tim/Faith tickets in the mail. We forgot to buy them when they went on sale... and we weren't really willing to pay lots of money for them... (althought we could have got 7th row seats for 89.00 a ticket.. wow!) so we are in the nose bleeds. You know, we might even be on the top row... great. Does anyone know how many rows are in the Delta Cent... I mean Energy Solutions Arena (dumb people that ruin a Utah icon)? I am kinda regretting getting those tickets... I bet they are going to be the worse seats yet. I am just annoyed because i have had plenty of opportunities to get good tickets, and I didn't. Oh well. I am sure this is going to be one of our last concerts. I just had to go! :) Oh well! :)

Friday Night

So it is Friday night and I am pretty bored. Dustyn fell asleep about 45 minutes ago or so... so I just sitting here waiting for someone to talk to me or something.... I would turn on the TV, but that would wake him... can't listen to music... that would wake him.... don't know. Guess I will sit here and POST silly comments on my blog! YAH! It's only 10... man.

So today we finally got a lawn mower. I am sure my neighbors are greatful for that. Our yard still needs a lot of work, but it is getting there... we got the ugly trees/bushes pulled out.. the ones by the porch. So that is good. We just need to start trying to grow some real grass and not that crappy crab grass. I guess Dustyn has ALL summer to work on it. Fun for him!

Well well... guess I will got for now. Have a marvelous night! BTW.. maybe ya'll should update your blogs so I have something to do!! :) Just kidding!

Fishing

So last Friday we went camping in Marysvale. Dustyn and I threw my futon matress in the back of the Tacoma and slept in there.. it was quite comfortable... something that I think will come in quite handy in the future. It was the first time we had tried it. We have talked about it a lot... but we just finally decided to try it.

On Saturday we went down to Piute to go fishing again. It was a lot of fun. Chet came with Dustyn and I and we just hung out for 3-4 hours. It was sooo warm and the weather was pretty nice. Right in the boat ramp/dock area there were a ton of fish just hanging out there. So we caught and released a lot of fish. It was a lot of fun. My mom and dad went to a funeral on saturday and stopped by afterwords to see what we were up to. My dad just couldn't resist the great fishing... so he threw his pole in and fished in his church clothes. It was pretty funny. He looked a little out of place.

That night we went in to Hoovers and had all you can eat Crab. It was very very good. Thanks mom and dad! :)

Easter!

Here's another picture of my nieces and nephew and their cousin!
You guys are cute. I love your new dresses and outfits!
Love you!

New Callings.

Dustyn recieved a new calling in our ward yesterday. We actaully talked to the bishop two weeks ago... and I think Dustyn is still in shock. He is the Young Men's President. He is pretty nervous but I know that he will do a great job and will be able to connect with the boys and benefit their lives. We know that through this calling and Dustyn's willingness to serve we will be blessed beyond measure. It kinda made us step back and re-evaluate our lives and recommit to being examples and being better people for ourselves.

Heavenly Father really does have a plan for us and he knows what we need. He places challenges and obstacles in our lives so we can learn and become stronger, more faithful members of His church. I am so thankful that we are members of this great church. I love the feelings I get when I am doing the right and striving to be a better person. We just need to have faith and trust in His timeline for us!

Families are eternal. We are so excited to have a baby and have the birthmother as part of our lives (in which ever way she feels comfortable). She will truly give us the most precious gift anyone could give. We will be eternally greatful for her and her sacrifice. She will be our hero always. It's hard to express our love for birthmothers.

Seems like we have had a lot of time to think the past few weeks... and wonder what our future will be like. Wondering if we should make plans (like girls camp, scout camp, cruise with mom and dad, etc.) and wondering when our precious baby will come meet us.

So for now we are being hopefully optomistic as we wait for a baby.

Adoption

So as you all know we are in the waiting phase of our Adoption. It can be such an emotional roller coaster. So many ups and down. It's hard to just trust and have faith that everything will work out. We know Heavenly Father knows our needs and our wants and we know that he is mindful of us. We just have to have faith and trust in him.

It's hard to open up and get involved for fear of getting hurt again. I know that it's just part of the process and part of the learning experience. I know that we will grow and be better from our experiences but right now that doesn't make things any easier. It still hurts when things don't work out... no matter how hard we try to not get excited and get attached.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate all of the support we recieve! :)

Happy Easter!

Here are my favorite kids on an Easter Egg Hunt!
Love you Guys!! MIss you!

I found these on the internet and thought they were funny... hope you enjoy!

Oliver's Law: A closed mouth gathers no feet.
The Law of Wal-Mart: As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop carrying it.

Gina

I am quite annoyed that Gina went home tonight. She was my favorite and I thnk that at least three of the others deserved to go home before her. But oh well. I guess there is still Blake. He'll probably be the next to get sent home though.... so Sanjaya can win! But I would buy Gina's album before any of the others... I guess I am a little more of a rocker than the rest of America. This is a weird season.
