[and now... the rest of the story]

Okay, so maybe Dustyn shaving his hair into a mohawk was a little out of character.
Maybe, just maybe there is a little more to the story.
Maybe there is a reason he went from this:

to this:

But honesty, I really do not mind this:

at. all.
I most definitely think I have one handsome husband.

So it all started with Dustyn's school doing Giving it Back.
The students do various activities and fundraisers to raise money for a family in the community that has gone through a difficult time or two and would benefit from the help a little extra money. (you can read more about this years family here.) It is an awesome program and the students really get a lot out of it.

Before they start the fundraising, the faculty and student council members pledge certain things in order to motivate the students to raise more money.
One male teacher pierces his ear.

At least one teachers is duct taped to the wall.

There is a limbo competition.

An elixir of death.

 And many various other activities.

All in all it is a lot of fun.

Dustyn decided to change things up and do something different this year. I jokingly said you should bic your head. The decision was made and he made his pledge. For $5000.00 he would be the new Mr. Clean.

A few weeks later, Katie and I were talking about how hot this guy is:

Swoon.

So I teased Dustyn... maybe you should get a mohawk.

He agreed.

I was scared. Very scared.

So the day came.

I was nervous. I mean... my 33 year old husband was going to actually really have a mohawk. Are you serious? I just might be married the the geek of the west here soon. Could he really pull it off? I won't lie. I surely didn't think so.

Well...

He so can.

I am so bummed that it will be gone soon.

Sad, sad day.
(there is always summer, right?)

And sadly for the rest of the week he has it (he said he'd keep it for an entire week if they raised over $100 at the assembly), he can't spike it for school. Sad.

And he's so much hotter than any dude in a high school singing club.
with or without the mohawk.

Dude, my husband totally rawks the mohawk.
and just in case you wanna see a few more photos:

and that my friends, is the rest of the story.

I totally prefer the mowhawk on him lol.

We did something similar at my school, it was called 'Spirit week' and was right in the middle of winter. Activities were for students and teachers. Teachers did things like tricycle racing, a big dance/lipsynch number. Students did sumo wrestling, marshmallow stuffing competition etc...

I think he looks GREAT with the mohawk. It is like a totally different husband huh?! That is so awesome that he participated in helping raise money for the school! It is a shame that the school wont let him have his "hawk" geled though. BUMMER!!

That is one fan-freakin-tastic story.

I LOVE Dustyn in a mohawk. I vote we do it to him again 4th of July weekend!! What a great way to celebrate your favorite holiday!

Loved the story. Almost as cool as Dustyn's mohawk (but only almost) is the picture of the teacher duct taped to the wall. I admit, I was curious when you posted the 'hawk for the first time, but I didn't want to be a naysayer or a hater, so thanks for enlightening us on the rest of that story--it's a good one, and yes, he DOES rock the 'hawk!

I figured it had something to do with SSHS. And I agree, he can totally pull it off. It's too bad he can't spike it for school. It doesn't look nearly as cool slicked down!
