a new kind of mother's day

I missed my mom, my mother in law and my grandmother's on Mother's Day...

But I am so thankful that I was able to spend mother's day with my best friend, Carrie.

 I love that after years and years of disappointment and discouragement, we got to spend a new kind of mother's day together.

Of course, this day wouldn't have been as wonderful without two special people.

We are eternally grateful for our birth moms.

As Mother's Day approaches, my heart is full. 

While I am excited that I can stand on Mother's Day and accept my flower (and not have to sit awkwardly as they push one in my face), my thoughts and prayers are turned to a beautiful selfless woman, Korin. 

Oh how I love Korin.

She is my hero.

She is the woman I want to be.

The mother I want to be.

I hope she knows how much we love her.

The hardest part about our adoption (lets face it, adoption is so HARD) is not being able to see Korin every week or two. I loved going to her doctor appointments with her and spending time with her each week. I miss that. I miss her. 

This Mother's Day, my thoughts are for Korin and the beautiful little boy she placed in our arms. She placed the world in our arms. He is our joy. We love him more than words can express.
