jack johnson

I won't lie.
I have never really been much of a fan of Jack Johnson.
jj8
The only close up I could get. :) I couldn't get clear photos when I zoomed in.
However, Dustyn is a huge fan.

He is always listening or singing Jack Johnson songs to Gage.
When I saw that Jack Johnson was coming to concert, there was no way I could pass up getting tickets for Dustyn. I mean lets face it. He has been to numerous Tim McGraw concerts with me.

Plus, it wouldn't hurt me to give Jack Johnson a chance. Before the concert I doubt I had ever listened to an entire song.

When I went to buy tickets for Dustyn's Father's Day, I thought I bought General Admission lawn tickets. We showed up around 5:00 pm so we could get good seats (read: A BETTER PARKING SPOT THAN TIM MCGRAW - ARG!). The gates opened at 5:30 pm. When we got in the gate, we were directed to some girls to get wrist bands. Okay. Whatever.

We head on in. We definitely were not on the lawn.
We had general admission PIT tickets.
This was our view:
jj10
We even had something to lean on, thank goodness!
jj9
I loved being close enough to watch the bouncers. Hilar.
Oh... this is G-Love. He was entertaining.
Awesome. :)

We did have a few hours to wait.
jj11
At least the sun was to our back. It was a nice warm day!
Luckily we could sit while waiting. :)

I can now say, I am a fan.
jj7
He had awesome scenes on his screen.
Dustyn is happy. :)
Less whining from his wife. That can only be good.
jj2
The concert was a lot of fun and awesome.
Dustyn said it was his all time favorite concert.
jj4
We were about 5 ft from the speakers. It was loud (we had earplugs), but it wasn't as bad as being back in the crowd. It was kind of strange. The cheering and screaming wasn't even bothering our listening experience. It was awesome. It was weird to have your body vibrate to the music. Even our levi's were vibrating.
jj3
The downside? Jack Johnson did not move around stage. Boo! Our front row seats (err... standing room only) weren't as close as they could have been.
jj5
However, the piano player did come visit us. :)  Of course my camera starting struggling at that moment. I did manage to snap a picture.
jj6
Nope, he's not wearing shoes. He was goofy.
We had a great time. I am glad I can finally stand to listen to another of Dustyn's favorite artists. I have found I usually do not like his music, but eventually it becomes part of my list of favorites. It just takes me awhile to come around. ;)

that lady is a really good singer! Her name is Paula.

11 days?

Here I was thinking I was up to date and doing so well on my blog.

Time flies.
Quickly.

School starts tomorrow for Dustyn.
(students start wednesday)

I am working on a big post.
I have plenty to tell you about.

Like going to Jack Johnson in concert.
Gage's latest tricks.

And maybe a few other things.

I can tell you that a lot Gage photos may or may not be involved. ;)

Completely random thoughts by:

Photobucket

~I take far too many picture of myself. Just trying to get that one good one. Oh well.

~I am so excited that I am in contact with Alice, Sonnie and Rachel again. They are all friends from when I lived in Mt. Pleasant. I moved from Mt. Pleasant the day after 6th grade started. It's been awhile since I have seen them. Wow. We are getting old. But they all have amazing beautiful families! I am so excited to watch them grow and learn!

~Why is it sometimes hard to talk to people about adoption? I mean I don't have a problem telling people that we are adopting or anything like that. But what about that pregnant teen that I see around town. How do you talk to her?

~Which reminds me. If you know anyone who is pregnant and considering adoption . . . look at these amazing couples! Feel free to pass along their information. So many amazing couples out there hoping to adopt.
Ron and Jessica
Greg and Arianne
Flavio and Kim
Brian and Leisha
Ben and Amanda
Mike and Erin
Josh and Lindsey
Carrie and Jon
Rodney and Carrie
There are so many more, but here are a couple!
And of course us! Dustyn and Kamie

~We so need to get our pass-a-long cards made and send them out! That will be my goal for August (hopefully before, but we'll see)

~Did you know that we are more likely to adopt through a designated adoption? Here is LDSFS information about Designated Adoption.
Designated Adoption

In designated adoption, the birth parent(s) and adoptive family find each other through someone outside LDS Family Services. This person is referred to as a third party. The third party tells the birth parent(s) and adoptive family only nonidentifying information about each other. Once the birth parent(s) and adoptive family decide to pursue an adoption, the birth parents, adoptive family, or third party may contact LDS Family Services for more information and services, including adoption planning.

Who can participate?
Any family or birth parent interested in adoption can participate.

Who can act as a third party?
Adoptive families may tell family members, friends, and personal and professional acquaintances of their interest in adopting and how they can help the family make an adoption happen.

What information can be shared by the third party?
The third party may share such information as the physical description of the adoptive family and birth parent(s), personality traits, educational background, talents, hobbies, interests, values, goals, church activity, and involvement with extended family.

Can the birth parent(s) and the adoptive family share information with each other?
Yes! Within agency guidelines, the birth parent(s) and adoptive family can create a plan for communication. This plan may include exchanging letters, pictures, and small gifts, and even meeting in person if they desire.

What does LDS Family Services do for a family once they have found a child to adopt?

Completes the required adoptive family home study.
Provides professional support and counseling to birth parents, their families, and adoptive families.
Gathers and shares available nonidentifying background information about the child and birth parent(s).
Coordinates legal and medical services for the birth parent(s).
Provides the required supervisory visits after placement.
Completes any additional paperwork required for out-of-state adoptions.

~We went to American Idol last night. It was so fun! We met up with Jenny and Daniel, Sheri, Janell and Jenny's mom and went to eat at Chili's. It was good! The concert was a little slow at first. But the longer it went, the better it got. David Archuleta was amazing! He is such a good singer, but David Cook is truly an American Idol. He was awesome. I loved every minute of it! (but more on that later)

~I have so much to post, but sometimes it seems overwhelming and I put it off and do silly posts like this, but I promise they will come soon. Although, it is a lot harder for me to post in the summer. I am so busy having fun (meaning more to post about) and I just wanna be outside and out and about. Who wants to sit home in front of a computer? lol

~Dustyn and I got new phones. Our "New Every Two" came up, so we upgraded. We got Motorola Q's. They are nice and I am totally enjoying it, but it's not an iPhone. So sad. Dang AT&T. :P

~I love watching Big Brother. Love it. (Actually I hated BB9 - I watched it maybe twice and then quit) But Big Brother 10 is currently going. There have been two episodes. Tomorrow someone gets evicted. I still have no idea who I like and don't like yet. (Not Jessie or Renny for sure. Gag)

~Which brings me to the point of totally missing my DVR. We have 13 channels or something like that (the basic locals). We don't really watch TV that often, so I didn't think it would be a big deal. But I miss it so much. I am almost ready to break down and get one. I like watching my favorite show when I want to watch them. Not when they want to be watched.

~One year ago today, we were looking at these fabulous sunsets in Pennsylvania. Man, I miss that state. I so want to go back. That was one of the best months of my life. I love traveling and discovering.

~It is so hot today. I guess you could say it's summer. Duh, Kamie! We have yet to get AC in out house. It is so, so, so warm there. Tonight we are over at my Aunt's babysitting and it is hot here. Although I am sure that it is MUCH cooler than our house. It's been a hot one.

~On Friday we are going on vacation with my family. I am excited. We are going to Flaming Gorge to go boating, fishing and camping. It is suppose to be in the lower 80's. I am so excited! We get to use our fancy tent. It is so nice!

~Next week Dustyn and I are babysitting (yes, we do a LOT of that) Dustyn's brothers two youngest. I am excited and nervous. I know they will be fun, but I am nervous to see how they will react being away from their mom with two strangers that they really don't know. I hope they like us and have a good time. They are one and three. We'll have lots of fun and play a lot!

~So Guitar Hero is coming out with a game called "Guitar Hero: World Tour". So fun! It's going to have DRUMS and a microphone! How fun is that. We really need to get over our obsession with video games. We are such geeks.

~Speaking of video games... I haven't played Dr. Mario forever. Sad.

~I am so not good at staying home with nothing to do. I so want to adopt and stay at home. I am excited for school to start so I will have something to keep me busy, but I don't really want it to. I love having all this free time to do what I want (as long as I am not staying home). At this point this summer is so busy. I have no idea how we have time to work! :)

~I know it's a little late, but remember back when I posted all those random things on my birthday about July 7th?  All the facts that Dustyn read to me?  Well I found the full version. Kinda fun. Here it is.

Tim in Concert

Of course, ya'll know I love, love Tim McGraw.  Always have and probably always will.  I was so excited to be able to go to his concert last Friday.  I won't even tell you how many I have attended, but more than I can count on one hand.  Bad, I know.  I was super bummed last year though, when Tim and Faith were in concert for the last time together and we got tickets (Luckily we were able to go see them the year before.  I am pathetic, I know).  We ended up giving them to my parents - thinking we would be in Pennsylvania.  When we were in Pennsylvania, we were just chillin' in Pittsburgh and what do we come across . . . the Tim and Faith concert.  I almost stopped.  But I didn't.

Anyways - we had a ton of fun!  It all started with my driving to pick up Dustyn!  Yay!  It was his last week of camp and he finally is home for the summer.  What a great way to start of the summer, huh?  So I picked Dustyn up and we drove up to SLC.  We checked in at the Red Lion Hotel.  (sweet deals on Priceline - check it out)  Dustyn got cleaned up and ready.  We headed off to dinner.  My brother, Jace and his date, Adrian, were meeting us for dinner.  We went to the Spaghetti Factory.  Yum!  I love it!  Then off to the concert we went.

Here we are driving in all the traffic.  Blah.  But Jace tried to make it exciting.  He was almost out of gas.  So we sat idling in traffic waiting to run out of gas.  Fun times!

First we saw Halfway to Hazard.  I have never heard of them before Friday.  They were probably alright, but the sound was horrible and I couldn't really hear them.  Plus I was more entertained by all the people around me (bad habit of mine).

Next was the reason Jace came along.  Jason Aldean.  He was good.  I love most of his songs and the other ones, I am just not familiar with.  But he was fun.  His guitarist CRACKED-ME-UP.  Again totally distracted by other people.
Here we are. Every one needs a photo, chubby chin and all. (And my MAJOR bad hairday. Blah!)
Oops. Missed.

There we go!

Last and certainly not least, Tim McGraw.  His show was awesome.  The sound was perfect.   Not too loud, but loud enough and you could even hear him sing (or forget the Lyrics about three times.  lol)  He has a new album coming out (YIPEE) and he sang a few songs off there.  Awesome.  I am already loving his new album.  I know, I am crazy.
Too bad we didn't have our nice camera.  Just my little point and shoot.  But then again, I guess I probably wasn't suppose to have that.  Ha ha.

But then again, I was totally distracted by all the drunk people around me.  There was this guy that totally hooked up with this girl in like 5 minutes.  That made the night quite interesting.  We were all amazed as we watched it happen.  I mean that really happens?  Seriously people.  Ha ha.

But it was for sure good times.

It took us quite awhile to get out of the parking lot all the while watching the low fuel light.  But we made it.

I can't wait until he comes back on tour with his next album!  :)

Stay tuned - more updates coming later tonight.  So much to blog about.

Exciting News!!!

For me at least!  Look here!
