i miss you.

i can't believe you are gone.



i can't stop the tears from falling.

it's funny all the things you wish you would have done once someone passes away.

why don't we do those things everyday?

why is this the only picture i can find of you with gage?

i wish he would have had the opportunity to know you when he grew up.

i'm so thankful for the time you spent with him.

we will never forget you or the fun memories we have of you.

we will never forget the way you served those around you.

i can't wait to tell gage about his great-grandpas. such wonderful men.

Jan 31, 1931 - August 25, 2009

Leland Taft Teeples Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Leland Taft Teeples, age 78, of Richfield, died August 25, 2009 in Murray, Utah, of complications following a long, hard battle with cancer. He was born January 31, 1931 in Bicknell, Utah, a son of Howard Leland and Myrtle Smith Taft Teeples. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1949. During the Korean Conflict, Leland served his country in the United States Army as a Captain. He married Sarah LuDean Jackson, May 16, 1949 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities including: Scout Master; the first Stake President of the Moab, Utah Stake; in 7 Bishoprics; Home Teacher; on the High Council for 20 years, and he and his wife, LuDean served three full time missions. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, hunting, fishing and scripture study. He is survived by his loving wife, LuDean, of Richfield; their children: Valdon and Tess Teeples of Apache Junction, Arizona; Sheldon and Michelle Teeples of West Valley City; Annette Ross of South Jordan; LaPreal and Larry Hansen of West Jordan; Beverly and Rick Farnsworth, Jeff Teeples, all of Richfield; David and Heidi Teeples of Elk Ridge; 49 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters: Eldon (deceased) and Shirlee Teeples of Sunset; Myrna and Dean Behunin of Sandy; Phyllis (Morris, deceased) Ercanbrack of Orem; Shirley and Carl Shepherd of Benjamin. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Richfield 2nd, 10th and 14th LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Richfield, Saturday from12 Noon to 1:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #505 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.

Trolley Square Shootings

One year ago today. . . 

This last weekend we drove around Trolley Square.  It was the first time I have been around there in years.  It seemed weird that one year ago a tragic event happened there.  I remember going to Trolley Square when I was a kid.  It was different this time.   You couldn't help but feel for the victims and survivors of this tragic event.

Carrie

Today I went to Carrie's Memorial Service. It was really nice and there were so many fun memories that her family shared with us. She was a wonderful person that warmed the hearts of many. She had a wonderful smile and that was the one on thing you couldn't forget about Carrie. When I worked with her, she was always smiling and giggling. You couldn't be in a bad mood around her. She was always so helpful and always accomplished everything that I asked her to do. She cleaned rooms for me for awhile and did a great job... sometimes it was hard to find anything wrong with them. When they needed a front desk person, I knew she was the one that would do a great job, so she went to the front desk. But she always had all the left over laundry folded for me when I got there in the morning. I always appreciated her.

I am proud of her for all the accomplishements that she had made in the past year. She really had things in order and had a goal in mind. She will be missed. Especially her smile.

Sad News

I just got some really sad news. I don't know how many people know the Curtis' from Richfield... but Ruthanne Curtis was one of my really good friends when I lived in Cedar City. Her sister Carrie (19) worked for me for awhile when i worked at Hampton Inn (then she moved to the front desk). Well Carrie was engaged and was on her way to St. George to pick up some things for her wedding. She got in a car accident and was killed. It makes me so sad. Her family is in my ward and I know most of them pretty well. I don't know what to do for them besides keep them in my thoughts and prayers. I am not very good with dealing with death, but then again who really is. The only comforting thing is knowing there is life after death and that families can be forever. It's such a tragic event and it impacts the whole community. I hope and pray her family and her fiance is comforted at this tragic time.
