Why Adoption?

Wow, it's officially 2008! I can't believe a new year is ready to start. I have so many goals and hopes for this year! I am so excited to get it started!

In the January 2008 Ensign there is an article entitled "Why Adoption?"

If you haven't had the opportunity to read it, you should! It's a really good article. I love finding articles about adoption! (Thanks Libby) It makes this whole experience a little easier. I love finding encouraging words from the leaders of our Church. It makes me excited to adopt!

I hope you have a good year and that you had a great New Year's Eve! We did! We went to Dustyn's brother's house and enjoyed a Hawaiian Luau! It was a lot of fun full of games and food! Good food! It was a great way to bring in the new year! We also had some awesome fireworks (even in the 3 or so degree weather). We played lots of games and watched "Night at the Museum". I didn't take too many pictures, but I did get the girls making Dustyn a princess!

And we can't forget Guitar Hero's. Tyler spends way to much time practing.... or we just suck! Ha ha! Must be that we are really crappy guitar players.

I just found this little video! Ha ha! I was going to take pics of the food that I made for the party, just for the heck of it... but I had my camera on Video Mode and then the battery died... so this is all you get. But we made Sarah's Coconut Cake (really, really good, by the way), Tropical Salsa (YUM!!!), Pickled Asparagus and Ham Rolls (as seen in the video), and some fun Island Way Sorbet Treats. (we found them at Costco) They are really good sorbets that are in real coconut shells, orange shells, lemon shells and pineapple shells. They were fun!

We had a fabulous Christmas. We were sad that Dad, Mom, Jace, and Tina had to leave early to go to Cedar for dad's surgery tomorrow.
We got some great gifts. Thanks Everyone! We LOVE you all!
Grandma Dotson made all the kids a collection of all her favorite recipes. I LOVE it! I am so excited to have it and use all the recipes that we grew up with. We also got a cool dish/candy puffs and a picture of Grandma and Grandpa Dotson. That made me happy too! I wanted a nice picture!! Thanks G&G Dotson.
Grandma and Grandpa Teeples gave all the kids an old book by Joseph Fielding Smith. He found one for each of us. Mine is from 1958 and belonged to my great-grandmother. I am excited to read it. We also got Chocolates! YUM! Who doesn't love those? Thanks!
Chet got Dustyn a 8GB jump drive and a knife and I got a 2GB jump drive! They will be so handy!! Thanks Chet!
Dustyn got a bow, arrows, camo, and a few accessories from Santa.
I got some perfume (Calvin Klein euphoria), some wedding picture (our first ones!! It's only taken 4 years to go pick them up, haha!!), pictures in some frames we bought for our wedding (again, only took 4 years!!), and three more picture frames with photos! I also got some See's candy! YUM! All from Santa of course!
Mom and Dad gave us some money to spend at Costco, and some cool vests!
JaKell gave us a game, Giant Spoons (Looks FUN! Wish someone was here to play it with us) and a picture frame. (Even when it wasn't our year. She spoils us!!)
Dustyn's mom gave us a Nativity Set and some goodies.
Ryial and Nicole gave us a game, Buzz Word, Dustyn some DVD's and me some Victoria Secret Lotion.
Yes, yes, I know, we are spoiled! Thanks for the great Christmas! Love ya!

Friends

Last night Ryan and Melissa invited us over to have steaks and BBQ. It was a fun night. Dinner was great. We made root beer shushies for dessert and ate a whole box of cream puffs. It was fun to just relax and not worry about anything. Ryan an Dustyn played Guitar Heros and Melissa and I talked. Her kids are super cute! They have three now. We also got a tour of their house. It is really nice and I think that I need to hire her as a decorator. But it was a really nice evening and I look forward to doing it again!

Guitar Hero II - Woohoo!!

Yay!! We finally recieved our Guitar Hero Games ... compliments of work! Woohoo!! Nice incentives! Anyways it is loads of fun! Feel free to come over and challenge us on the EASY mode!! :D

Guitar Hero II

So I finally broke down and got the game that everyone has been talking about... Guitar Heros! I am super excited. I can hardly wait to get it in the mail! YES! Another electronic device to occupy my time. Man I need a life!

But I will let you know how it goes!! So excited!
