My Day... in the name of boredom.

My beautiful view everyday!
Happy to be sweating!
Oh... maybe not.
Anything to keep cool.
But apparently nothing works.
Who knows.
Don't dare wear my ring, but who doesn't love a wal-mart temporary replacement?
I'm lame. Oh... and bored.
My best friend.
I loves it.
Mmm.... my grandpa and grandpa brought me a drink today. So nice!
I try and try to give out pass-along cards, sadly no one wants them.
This is me pouting.

Fishing at Piute

Yesterday my brother, Jace, took us to Piute to go fishing.  He brought his paddle boat for us to use and his float tube for him.  We had lots of fun!  But it was SO hot.  Luckily I only burned my scalp.  Of all places to forget sunscreen! ( I even got a tan on my feet! YAY! For anyone who knows me knows that it is nearly impossible for me to tan, so I was super exited!)

Dustyn found a little high spot in the lake so he decided to do a little fishing there.
Here is Dustyn's catch for the day.
Here is what I caught all day.
We finally headed over to the boat ramp to load up the boat and thought we'd do a little crawdad fishing.  We both caught 2 or 3.  We didn't bring anything to cook them in, so we didn't keep them.
Afterwards we went up on the Monroe looking for "the elk".  The one that everyone knows about and the one that is dominating on Monster Muleys.  Too funny.  But we didn't see it.  There were so many people up there looking for it.  It was crazy.   We tried to tell them that the parade isn't until Friday, but they didn't listen.

Jace doing what he does best.
Dustyn doing what he does best.  (just teasing)
Our buddy.
It was so nice to get a away and get up in the mountains!  I love it up there.

Sometimes I wonder . . .

Why I even bother. Golly.

Why on earth do I even try to do my hair in the summer?
Why on earth do I spend over an hour or two blow drying and straightening it, just to have it frizzy.
Why on earth do I make myself feel like I am in a sauna IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!

It seems like when I do decide to straighten my hair (rarely these days) I end up spending two hours, and I am never happy with it. So why, oh why do I even try? And then add to the fact that as i am blow drying it and straightening it, I am sweating bullets. I mean dying. *I am currently sitting in front of the fan trying to get my scalp to dry. blah* By the time I get done with my hair, it's time for another shower.   So there is not even any chance I can consider using the hairdo for a second day.  Seriously.

My hair use to straighten a lot easier.  Maybe I need a new Chi.  Or something.  Or a deep conditioning.

These are the questions I ask myself every time I decide that I like my hair straight. It may not look fabulous curly, but my day does go a little better. :P

Off to finish my mess of hair.  Why, oh why.

It's TAX day!

Luckily we always get our taxes done like the first week in February, so today is just another day for us.  But last night we finally caved and went and spend some of our tax return.  Apparently our savings account is just too easy to get into!  But look at our new toys!!  Yay!!
Except ours is pewter, but I couldn't find a picture of the one we actually have - and I am not at home...
This will make my summer MUCH more enjoyable.  The fan we had previously quit working about 2+ years ago.  It's been hot.  This fan is super nice!  It reverses to circulate air in the winter and the summer!  And it has a remote.  Nice!  I hope this one last longer than the last.  We installed it last night.  On the lowest setting it works so well!  And is so quiet.  It's huge, it seemed a LOT smaller in Home Depot.  Ha ha.  I know, I am FAR too excited about a ceiling fan!  lol

We also got a screen door!  Yay!  It's just one that you can use when you need it and when you don't need it, it rolls back into the side.  I didn't want to put a big ugly screen on my door.  I like my black door too much.  In fact it is the only part I do like on the exterior of our house!  :)

So that is our excitement on tax day!

(I won't tell you about the other financially smart decision we made yesterday.  Ha ha.  We are allowed to play a little, right?)  ;)

Summer Jobs!

And another reason that we are wanting to get in shape  . . . Dustyn got a summer job!  Yay!  He is going to be a teacher at a 5th grade summer camp, Camp Big Springs!  He was a teacher 2 years ago and loved it.  But he has to go on a major hike once a week.  (The camp is for the month of June)  And several smaller hikes through out the week.  (Not to mention the hike to the stinkin' tent!  That one about killed me everytime!!) So it would be great if he were in shape BEFORE camp starts so he doesn't die the first week!  :)

Now, I just need to go get a summer job!  I will still be baby-sitting twice a week, but I need to find something else.  I would love to go be up at camp with Dustyn and work as Kitchen staff, but it is so hard to make major decisions when you are adopting!  One reason I decided to be a substitute teacher is because it is flexible and I can take time off whenever I want or need to.  That would work really well if anything ever came up.  But if we were both at camp for the entire month, we'd have to put our adoption on hold until after and that isn't something I want to do.  (Once we make the commitment, we can't back out or come home early.)  But I don't want to put my life on hold until we adopt either.  I mean it could be years.  It could be months.  It could be days.  You never really know.

That is the dilemma we are always trying to figure out.  Dustyn was really nervous to commit to camp - but we figured it would all work out.  The worst scenario is that he only gets to see the baby on the weekends for a month (or on placement day if it were ever to happen in June).  Something we'd just have to deal with.  I know, I know.  I am worrying too much!  It's just so hard to make decisions when you have no idea what your life will be like in the next month.  :)  But that isn't necessary a bad thing either!  :)

Poor Dustyn.

The summer has officially come to a close. Dustyn started back to school today. It was a good summer. Not only was this the first year we have ever spent a summer together.... we spent 45 days straight 24/7 together. Man... could there have been a better summer?

Sunshine and Summertime!

We had a good weekend up at Fishlake. On Friday we ate, sat around the fire, roasted marshmellos and sang songs. It was fun to spend sometime with the kids. They have grown up a lot since the last time I saw them. Hadi has a lot of funny things to say. Last time we saw her she wasn't talking much... so it's been a lot of fun.

On Saturday we took the paddle boat out and paddled all over the lake. Dustyn and I took kids out on a few long rides. Then after we had exausted ourselves we took the boat out a fished for a few hours. It was a lot of fun. We were only catching the small planters... but they were still fun. The only problem was that when we were putting sun screen on, Dustyn neglected his knees (because his shorts covered them) and I didn't put any on my legs. What were we thinking. We are burnt crisp. I don't remember the last time I had a burn like this. My legs never burn... but I guess this time they did. I even took extra care to wear a hat so my head and face didn't burn. :P Saturday night we set up all the movie equiptment and watched "Open Season" on the side of a trailer. Fun times!

On Saturday we went to Church at the Lodge and then came home. It was a good weekend. We tried to make Frozen Yogurt with Dustyn's new Ice Cream maker, but it didn't really turn out well.
